Welcome to Dobson Ranch
A historic piece of Arizona.
If one community encapsulates the amazing growth that occurred in Arizona in the second half of the 20th century, it's Dobson Ranch. These 2,000 acres in Mesa were once raw desert, then became a thriving working cattle ranch, and by the mid-1970s, was transformed into a master-planned community complete with a golf course. Nearly 15,000 people call Dobson Ranch home today.
Long-time Mesa residents, young families, college students and more.
While Dobson Ranch was considered remote in its early days, today it's conveniently and centrally located in the heart of Mesa off Dobson Road just south of Baseline Road. With Loop 101 and U.S. Highway 60 just a mile away to the west and north respectively, residents of Dobson Ranch can quickly find their way to downtown Phoenix, the airport and beyond. The quick-growing East Valley enclaves of Chandler and Gilbert are just minutes away as well, as are Tempe and Ahwatukee.
What To Expect
Affordable homes ranging from townhomes all the way to gated enclaves of large single-family homes.
Dobson Ranch was originally envisioned as being a city within a city. Housing units comprised everything from apartments to single-family homes and even a gated community. The enclaves were connected by a series of lakes that transformed the brown desert into an arid paradise. Parcels also were developed for retail shopping, healthcare and education. Today, the vision remains a reality as Dobson Ranch remains self-sustaining.
What Not To Expect
Constant change or the bustle of development.
In addition to its established community amenities, residents of Dobson Ranch are located close to world-class healthcare and top-rated academic institutions. Indeed, Banner Desert Medical Center is less than a mile from Dobson Ranch and Arizona State University is a short drive away in Tempe. Technology leaders such as Intel and Motorola have large campuses nearby, while Mesa's primary retail corridor is just minutes from Dobson Ranch and is in the middle of a rebirth with new construction and updated retailers.
Quiet and residential, this is a community that's long-established and has set into its rhythm.
The Dobson Ranch Golf Course is the city of Mesa's only municipal course and is located on what was part of the original Dobson family's personal ranch. The course opened in 1973 and is set on 145 acres. The space includes a public park as well as a recreation center with a public pool.
You'll Fall In Love With
Tree-lined streets, quick freeway access and a significantly shorter commute than what many other East Valley workers experience.
Among Dobson Ranch's most desirable elements are the lakeside homes that line the community. Any waterfront property in the Phoenix area is rare and Dobson Ranch offers homeowners the opportunity to find a waterfront home that's not only affordable, but also in an established community with a unique history. For those looking for a little less property to maintain, waterfront townhomes also are available in the Dobson Ranch master-plan.
